Welcome to Transitional Year Residency at Medical Center of Trinity.

The purpose and objective of the Transitional Year (PGY1) is to provide a well-balanced graduate medical educational program, both clinical and didactic, so that you have a strong clinical background to continue your training. Our objective is to provide you a multidisciplinary education on which to base further medical training. Medical Center of Trinity has both a Radiology and Internal Medicine residency on site. TY residents will rotate w/ internal medicine residents on a Inpatient teaching service to provide an excellent educational experience. The rotation schedule can be adapted to suit the needs and interests of the individual resident. Goal is to nurture a professional academic clinical environment. There are nine months of required rotations. The remaining 3 months of electives will be selected based on needs of the resident. You will receive exposure to caring for acute and chronic patients in different practice settings.

We are a community hospital located in the Tampa Bay area serving a diverse patient population serving both urban and suburban patients. We are a regional referral center with comprehensive medical services. We appreciate that this internship is an important year where you transition from being a medical student to a knowledgeable resident in advanced training.

As program director, it is my privilege to begin a program that trains compassionate, well-rounded physicians and to prepare each resident for the specialty she or he aspires to. We are excited you are interested in our residency program. You will find our environment to be collegial and nurturing while fostering intellectual curiosity.
