At Medical Center of Trinity, rehabilitative treatment and services are available on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy treat a wide range of neurological, orthopedic, medical and surgical conditions. Rehabilitation services are provided under the direction of a licensed physician. All individuals seeking rehab treatment will first need to be evaluated by their physician and obtain a prescription for therapy before rehab services can be initiated.

Lymphedema Therapy

Lymphedema Therapy is conducted by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist who is also a Licensed Physical Therapist. Lymphedema is a result of a damaged or impaired lymphatic system that is incapable of removing fluids around cells and, therefore, unable to filter unwanted particles causing symptoms such as swelling, loss of function and reduced grip strength.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy Services benefit people who suffer from physical illness or injury, cognitive perceptive disorders, developmental disorders or psychosocial disorders in order to promote independence in activities of daily living.

Hand therapy is also provided by our licensed Occupational Therapists for diagnoses such as:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Dupuytren Contractures
  • DeQuarvain’s Syndrome of the Thumb

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy services are provided by our excellent, experienced, licensed staff. We also have several Certified Manual Therapists who can more specifically treat any joint disorders. Physical therapy services are beneficial to people who suffer from musculoskeletal problems, such as limited range of motion of the spine or extremities, muscle weakness, balance disorders, TMJ problems and painful joints. We also provide pediatric services. Common patient diagnoses that often benefit from physical therapy services are:

  • Balance Disorder
  • Bursitis, Tendonitis
  • CVA/Stroke
  • De-Conditioning
  • Joint Replacements
  • Back & Neck Pain
  • Neurological Diseases, such as Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Post Arthroscopic Surgery for any Joint
  • Post Fractures

  • Urinary Incontinence

Pre-Operative Surgical Education

Participants will learn what to expect before, during, and after undergoing joint replacement or spine surgery. Led by a physical therapist, the program enables all participants to tour the nursing unit where they will reside post surgery. Patients will have an opportunity to become familiarized with the Spine & Orthopedics program including nursing and physical therapy staff. Reservations required. Speech Therapy/VitalStim Therapy

Speech Therapy Services are beneficial to patients with any type of swallowing disorders or speech disorders, caused by illnesses such as:

  • CVA/Stroke
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • ALS

VitalStim Therapy is a uniquely designed and FDA cleared to market neuromuscular electrical stimulation system that stimulates inactive swallowing commonly found in patients with dysphagia (swallowing disorder).
