New Port Richey, FL – Ivy Landell, RN, Women’s Services Patient Liaison, was recently named the recipient of Medical Center of Trinity’s 2011 Frist Humanitarian Award—Employee. Landell is eligible for the nationwide 2011 Frist Humanitarian Award, the highest honor an employee can receive at HCA, the parent company of Medical Center of Trinity.
Established in 1971, the Frist Humanitarian Award was named in honor of Dr. Thomas Frist, Sr. (1910-1998), one of the original founders of the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). The Award recognizes individuals whose daily dedication and caregiving epitomize the highest standards of quality and personal commitment. Each year, the Award honors outstanding individuals for their humanitarian and volunteer activities, and to recognize employees, volunteers, and physicians at HCA facilities.
Ivy Landell, RN, has been a loyal employee of Medical Center of Trinity (formerly Community Hospital) for over 20 years. As the Women’s Services Patient Liaison, Ivy, works with patients at the bedside to ensure their needs are met. She counsels patients and families, and makes herself available after hours for any questions and concerns. In addition, she often joins patients for physician visits and is respected for her ‘hands-on’ approach to patient care. Ivy is active in many community organizations including the American Cancer Society, and the Good Samaritan Clinic.
“We are extremely proud to recognize Ivy Landell for putting others needs before herself without effort,” said Leigh Massengill, Chief Executive Officer. “HCA is committed to delivering quality patient care and Ivy is a shining reflection of our commitment to the care and improvement of human life.”
Three national awards are given annually, and each facility selects local recipients and submits their nomination packets to the home office for consideration at the national level. National recipients are honored at a reception at the company’s Nashville, Tenn., headquarters.
